    2. I have a question regarding butches. I myself am a butch but I’m old school at the tender age of 25 haha. I feel like I should be like these young bois that are cocky, rude, and have a sense of self entitlement to every femme that has a pulse pretty much(that’s the way I perceive them) I can’t be that way though and being old fashioned comes with it’s scars so to speak. How do I navigate dating when I’m getting overlooked by femmes and how do butches like me make ourselves stand out to femmes?

      • Hey there, Taylor! Well, as a 27-year-old self-proclaimed “old school butch,” I feel ya. However, I don’t think you’re giving femmes enough credit here. Anyone who wants a real, mature, and, well, old school relationship – femmes included – will appreciate those qualities in a partner. I know it’s cliche as hell, but you really do have to just be yourself.
Fake cockiness is even worse than real cockiness. Putting on a front of any kind is a bad idea, IMO. Just keep being you, my friend, and the right femme will notice!

        • Yes, give us the credit! I see the same issues in lots of butches our age and always try to find the one who is classy and sophisticated rather than cocky. I often lament the lack of sweet, old school butches out there as I’ve never met one under 40 😦

    3. I’m looking for LGBT parents and carers of all ages to participate in my research project. The focus of my dissertation is on the location choice of LGBT carers when raising families; why do certain cities have a higher proportion of LGBT families compared to other cities? The method is one short questionnaire which is anonymous and all of my research is in accordance with the University of Southampton’s ethics policy. If you are interested in taking part please email lab2g10@soton.ac.uk

Is it possible for you to mention the above on a blog post perhaps? Or alternatively point me in the right direction to find some participants? If you would like to see the questionnaire before you post anything then please do not hesitate to contact me.

      Many thanks in advance
      Lauren Bennett
